Technics
SL-M1:
A fantastic Japanese "Golden Era" HiFi turntable!
Item Description
The Technics SL-M1, released in 1983 in Japan during the
“Golden Era” of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment, is a classic direct
drive turntable with a stellar reputation for quality. It features a rock-solid
quartz phase-locked speed control, and the whole unit is built with quality and
precision. One of the innovative features of the SL-M1 is a proprietary dynamic
damping mechanism, which improves in particular the low-frequency region by
suppressing resonance and cross-modulation distortion in this region. With
impressive technical specs, such as a wow and flutter of < 0.022% WRMS (JIS
C5521), the SL-MA1 has achieved a solid reputation in the years following its
release, and its great high-torque motor is mentioned by critics. This turntable
is pretty rare, so one in good condition is a great find!
This turntable is in good working condition with some aging.
***This turntable has been checked and tested. Powers on, platter spins, sounds good and sold as-is. Has little white marks on the cover, light scuffs on exterior, and just needs a little TLC. (See Pictures)
