About This Listing

1928 Gibson A Model Blackface

Here's a true classic from the golden age of Gibson mandolins. The 1920s are the most sought after of Gibson's vintage A-styles, and for good reason: they're highly playable and responsive, and often have amazing tone. This one is no exception. This mandolin is in very good to excellent condition with just some minor scratches. The finish still shines and there is no chipping or cracking.
This features a bound carved spruce top with a white-bound oval sound hole, and birch back and sides. It has a mahogany neck with large peghead, adjustable truss rod, 20-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, 1-3/16" nut width, 14" scale, adjustable ebony bridge stamped "PAT'D JAN.18-21", nickel hardware, "The Gibson" engraved tailpiece cover, "The Gibson" silkscreened headstock logo. Everything is original except for the pickguard mounting bracket and hardware. The original screw and pin that were replaced are included. The comes with the original hard shell case.
