You could buy a Marshall, or Mesa Boogie to get these sounds at this volume, but it would cost you triple the money.

Bang for buck this is a great amp. Of course Your Mileage May Vary and Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and AWESOME is subjective of course.

Dont buy this amp until you've checked out comparable Marshall and Mesa amps!

I have not found the KMD / Music Man history documented anywhere, but this is definitely a Music Man design (I have schematics for Music Man and KMD versions of the amp), with its origins starting with Leo Fender.

In 1974, the company ( Music Man) started producing its first product, an amplifier designed by Leo Fender and Tom Walker called the "Sixty Five," a hybrid of tube and solid-state technology that players characterized as "loud as hell." The number of designs rapidly increased, and 15 of the 28 pages from the 1976 catalogue were dedicated to amplification.

Kaman Music Corporation, a part of the Kaman Corporation, was founded by Charles Kaman. In January 2008, Kaman Corporation sold Kaman Music Corporation to Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC).

These amps were plugged by Bon Jovi, Al DiMeola, Lonnie Mack and others. (See photo)

I have completely gone over this amp, replaced the speaker with a like new Celestion 12" 100 Watt speaker, installed a brand new 3 spring reverb tank, installed 2 new Cliff jacks for the FX loop, cleaned the potentiometers to eliminate scratchy noises, and set the bias correctly for the 6L6 power tubes.

I have stripped all the old tolex and ugly plastic parts and replaced them with gorgeous Gibson / Mesa style black tolex (see Mojotone website) and Fender chrome hardware (corners and feet).

The reverb shimmers, it is a beautiful crystal clear reverb, that goes from subtle to lots of reverb, but it does not do that over the top psychedelic crazy weird effects that some reverbs do.

The New Old Stock dual foot pedal switches between channels and reverb in / out. The LED has been disabled on the foot switch because the LED is not compatible with this model amp. Originally the amp had a hard wired FS, this amp has had a foot switch jack added.

This amp is surprisingly quiet (when you're not playing through it!).  It is super responsive to touch / attack and can be played subtly or  driven to be a very loud 60 Watts.

It's ready for the studio or to gig.

Will be double boxed, packed well, with tubes removed for shipping.  If you are not comfortable inserting the tubes, you will need to have a local amp tech install them for you (5 minute job).

Guitar not included.

Why I use Mesa tubes:
The Mesa Boogie 6L6 STR-440 tubes are premium grade, US equivalent, and are the tube of choice in the production of all Mesa 6L6 powered models. The 6L6 STR-440 amp tubes have remarkable bass definition, articulate mids and shimmering highs that keep every note amazingly intelligible, with a smooth, creamy character. Premium structural quality provides exceptional consistency and reliability that rivals NOS (New Old Stock) durability and sonic character. These Mesa Boogie amp tubes come as a matched pair and are amazing for all styles of music.   Mesa Boogie starts with the finest tubes from around the world, tests and matches each one under simulated operating conditions to the tightest, most demanding industry spec.
