Fender A/E Precision Fretless MIJ 90's

This is a rare and sought-after Made In Japan Fender model with a unique design and sound. The A/E Fretless Precision has both a Lace-Sensor P pickup and a Peizo acoustic-type bridge pickup. It gets a wonderful, woody and punchy tone that can sound like upright bass or Latin Baby Bass, but still with a bit of fretless "mwah" too. Made briefly in the early 90's, it has great MIJ quality from that era.

This one plays and sounds great, and has had a Cafe Walter piezo buffer installed, which improves the performance of the peizo. Controls are master volume, high boost/cut and pickup pan. I find the bass sounds best when the pan slightly favors the P-pickup, with a little peizo blended in.

There are several dings on the front of the bass, two big 'uns on the face and some gnarly stuff along the bottom edge. None of these are cracks, the bass is totally sound and otherwise in very good condition. The neck is straight, the truss rod works and it's a pleasure to play. Comes with a Fender hard shell case.
