Description

The Accuphase P-400 is a vintage high-fidelity power amplifier that was released in Japan in 1979, during the “Golden Era” of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment. The unit is remarkable for both its highly advanced circuit engineering and the high quality of the components used in its construction. The technical specs of the P-400 are impressive, featuring Accuphase’s original triple push-pull MOS-FET circuit in the output stage, which provides superior high-frequency performance. Another unique feature of the P-400 is the ability to switch from normal operation over to pure Class A operation. Furthermore, the P-400 design avoids a mass condenser or input condenser in the NFB loop, which allows for gorgeous sound absent of coloration. With all of these innovations and more, the resulting sound of the P-400 is nothing short of exceptional. The P-400 output at 8 ohms is 200 W per channel, operating in normal mode.
