Here is a vintage, single-ply Slingerland Radio King 6.5x14" snare drum! This drum is a beautiful refinished drum with a gloss maple finish that showcases a simple, classy maple wood grain. There are a few notable cosmetic details to this drum, primarily the plugged holes behind the strainer and butt-plate. It is also missing its tone control, but the holes for it have not been plugged. The seam of the shell is clearly visible, but there is no point in this shell that is structurally comprised. Its chrome is in great shape with few cosmetic blemishes. This 1940's Radio King will make for a great player, as well as a unique addition to a collection!
Steve’s notes: This is a great drum. Old Radio Kings can be a bit of a toss up. Some are tricky, but when you find a great one they are REALLY great. This shell is one of the great ones sonically, and the refin was really well done. It has some cosmetic issues such as the plugged holes we mentioned, and there is a slight finish split in the area of the strainer as the pic shows, but it is just on the outer finish and doesn’t penetrate the shell (see pics). This is a player’s drum, not a collector piece. Bring this to the live gig or to the studio and enjoy! The 80 year aged wood does make a difference! I JUST DID A VIDEO USING THIS DRUM. WILL BE POSTED SOON! It is AMAZING!International shipping is just an estimate. Some countries are more, some less. Please contact us before purchasing for an accurate shipping quote.
