Fellow southpaws, rejoice! Check out this pristine German-made Warwick Corvette ProLine ! This bass was handmade in Markneukirchen, Germany in 1996, the golden age of Warwick's manufacturing (see the gold 'Handcrafted in Western Germany' text on the control plate). This bass is not to be confused with the mass-produced 'Rockbass' line which is produced in China, they don't even deserve comparison.

The bass is practically mint, especially given its age. You'd be hard pressed to find a similar Warwick bass (let alone left-handed) in better condition!
So what's so special about this bass? Well, in the early to mid-90's , Warwick exclusively used wenge as their neck wood (as is the case with this bass). Due to wenge shortages near the end of the millenium, they started to use ovangkol, which, while tonally similar is much stiffer. I used to own a Warwick Streamer LX built in '01, which was fantastic, but the difference in playability was night and day. The LX's neck was way chunkier!

Another thing they changed was the Just-A-Nut nuts. The Just-A-Nut I (which this bass has), features individual slots that can be raised or lowered and is made out of solid brass.

The Just-A-Nut II was made out of plastic (presumably as a cost-cutting measure), and the Just-A-Nut III again used brass but was only adjustable through two screws (so less adjustable than the Just-A-Nut I).

This bass is made out of two pieces of solid US Swamp Ash. It features the original MEC Dynamic Correction pickups (passive), but an active Seymour Duncan STC-2P preamp (which was professionally installed by my guitar tech, see pics). If you'd ever want to switch out the preamp I'll provide you with the original pots (but really I wouldn't change anything about this bass).

For further information and specifications, see the list below. I will ship worldwide using FedEx Int'l Priority, but please contact me before buying so I can give you an accurate shipping estimate and add possible sales tax (if you are a US buyer).
