About This Listing

Archtop Klira (1958-60).

This guitar was built in Germany in the late 1950s. It has a laminated maple and mahogany top, sides and back. 64 cms scale. Large size 42.5 cm at the hips, very close to 17 ".

Despite the years, the neck is perfectly straight and the high frets are round and unmarked. It does not have an adjustable trusrod, but the maple neck is perfect and very thin, the fingerboard is pear wood with bronze frets, and fingerboard has been overhauled and nurtured, and the frets polished.

The review has been complete, leaving the guitar with a perfect performance: low strings and perfect tuning. It has installed a "Kent Armstrong" pickup of Alnico ceramic magnets, with the internal installation up to the jack socket that is at the end of the guitar and that also serves to hold the strap.

Although it has many bumps and scratches, it is solid and in very good condition to play. It has been fully restored and adjusted, the string height is very comfortable and the tuning is perfect.Strung with bronze 0.11.

"Klira (Otto Johs. Klier GmbH) was a German string instrument manufacturer, from 1887 to 1982. Starting with the classical violin family of instruments, the production range was expanded with acoustic and electric guitars around the 1950s . The company was soon reformed in the Franconian region of Bavaria, West Germany, in the city of Erlangen. This coincides in time and place with the founding of the Framus company by Fred Wilfer, also from Schönbach. "
