Looking for a simple, affordable all tube preamp with component switching and volume control to play CDs, tape or FM? Here it is! Tube rectification and three 12AX7As get the job done very nicely. Based on the line stage of the venerable Marantz 7 from the mid '60s. Accepts four line level stereo devices. Two sets of outs to your power amps. Build and parts quality are good for a component at this price point. Please note that this preamp does not include a phono stage so you cannot play records through it unless you have one of the 'new jack' record players with a built-in phono preamp that presents our tube preamp with a line level signal.
