Norma EG 490-4 1965 Red Sparkle 4 Pickup Electric Guitar Made In Japan
Pretty rare 4 pickup Norma guitar. Made for only a year or two. This 4 pickup model was manufactured in Japan by the Tombo company. The guitar is in good cosmetic condition overall and even has the large NORMA logo that is often missing from these guitars. The red sparkle is the original "wrap" finish and it looks fantastic!
The neck is a chunky C profile with 21 frets on a rosewood fretboard, and a 24 3/4" scale length. The nut is 1/5/8" wide. The E string tuner is a replacement but fits in fine with the other tuners and all tuners work fine. The fret wires on the neck are very thin but also very clean and have plenty of life left. Neck looks good overall but has a forward bow. There is a truss rod that does turn in both directions but guitar could use a little TLC in the setup department.
Electronically all four pickups are working. The volume pots for all 4 pickups are working and the universal tone pot is working as well. The on/off rocker switches are working for all 4 of the pickups. Each pickup can be activated independently of each other or used in conjunction with one another for multiple settings.

The tremolo is complete with arm and spring and appears to be in good condition. The plastic tip of the tremolo arm is included and is complete. The adjustable bridge is in good, clean shape as well. All in all this a complete guitar that needs a little TLC to straighten the neck and a general setup. I am selling this guitar as is and as stated.
This is a pre-owned, used, vintage instrument that does have a few dings, dents and scratches commensurate of age.
These sparkle Norma guitars are highly collectible and the 4 pickup model is at the top of list! Currently, this is the only 4 pickup Norma Sparkle guitar on Reverb. I sold a 4 pickup Blue Sparkle Norma back in August 2016 and these are getting harder to find.
Check the prices on the other sparkle Normas listed and you'll see that I am asking for quite a bit less than those. Of course this Norma needs a little help so the price has been reduced to reflect this.
