From Huss and Dalton:
"Huss and Dalton Guitar Company, Inc. took root in the fertile soil of the Shenandoah Valley, late in the summer of 1995, when Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton’s friendship and mutual interests inspired them to envision eminently playable, resonant, and attractive guitars that were true to their sense of aesthetics and tone. While the luthiers appreciated traditional design, they imagined a guitar that paid homage to tradition and also incorporated improvements to the structure and cosmetics of the distinctly American steel-string guitar. Today, Huss & Dalton builds the world’s finest acoustic, electric guitars and banjos in both traditional and contemporary styles."
"Classic timeless styling. The Huss & Dalton TOM-R combines traditional flat-top construction with the red spruce bracing used in all Huss & Daltons. This guitar is especially suited for finger-style players or flatpickers with a lighter touch, yet holds up to vigorous strumming when the performance becomes more intense. The even response and airy, shimmery qualities the OM has always been known for are maintained and expanded on in the Huss & Dalton TOM-R."
This TOM-R-Custom features a Thermo-Cured Adirondack aka Red Spruce top and an Indian Rosewood back and sides. It has a brilliant shimmering response with added warmth due to the Red Spruce top and bracing. Adirondack/Red Spruce has been the go to choice for Flat-Tops since the golden age of the acoustic guitar. Matted with a beautiful Rosewood back and sides, you can't go wrong. This is the OM that comes to mind, when you think OM. A large tone with exquisite note separation and volume/headroom to spare. The OM is also ideal for fingerpicking, as the notes stay rich and articulate no matter how hard your attack is. The Thermo Treatment takes out all excess moisture for a more mellow, woody and vintage tone.
The 25.4" scale means that this guitar will take lighter strings nicely with it's increased tension. A beautiful Herringbone purfling, Ivoroid binding and Valute keep the look classy as well as timeless.
