1989 Fender Stratocaster - Strat - Signed by Stevie Ray Vaughan - SRV - Very Rare!

Here's a very rare opportunity to purchase an authentic signed guitar by Stevie Ray Vaughan.  This is a 1989 Stratocaster which was auctioned for charity and signed by SRV.  Unfortunately, he passed away in 1990.

The guitar was at one point purchased by Trevor Hobley, and it was subsequently sold to Gordon Dow, a long-time vintage guitar dealer.  Gordon owned the guitar for more than 20 years and passed away 3 years ago.  I purchased the guitar from Gordon's widow.

The guitar is in very nice condition.  It was likely a new guitar donation from a local music store for the auction when SRV signed it, and it has been kept in amazing condition ever since.

I replaced the original single ply pickguard with a tortoiseshell pickguard of the same era (no extra holes - a perfect fit.)  The signature SRV decals were then applied.  The goal was to match the look of SRV's 1961 Strat "Scotch," which was SRV's main guitar in the years preceding his death.  That guitar also initially had a white pickguard, as seen on the "Live Alive" album cover.  It was later updated with a tortoiseshell pickguard, as seen on the "Live from Austin, Texas" cover.

If you consider that SRV's time in the limelight was relatively brief (4 to 5 years) and that he did not sign very many items (especially guitars), you can see how rare this guitar is.  It will be a wonderful keepsake for the fortunate owner.
