Created by the master luthier John S. Kinnard.
Known primarily as the master luthier behind the Dell' Arte Instruments brand, Kinnard crafted this masterpiece in 1999. A very rare Kinnard Mandolinetto.
This exquisite instrument has a gloss natural finish, with an oval soundhole in the solid spruce top. The guitar-shaped body is 10-3/8" lower bout, 2-9/16" to 3-1/8" depth. The overall length is 25". The quarter-sawn flamed-maple back and sides are stunning!
This mandolinetto has a 2-piece maple neck with a radiused ebony fingerboard with 20 frets. The body joins neck at 12th fret and there no inlays... side dots only with an ebony peghead overlay with the "Dell'Arte" logo in pearl.
The body, soundhole, fingerboard and peghead are rosewood bound. The top and soundhole purfling is multi-colored half-zipper strip, with white-black-white fingerboard and peghead purfling an ebony bridge with bone saddle and a rosewood heelcap. Topped off with chrome 4-on-a-plate Schaller tuners with pearloid buttons.
Excellent overall condition with only a small check in the gloss finish. See photos.
