Framus 17 - Double Neck Bass and 12-String Guitar 2002 natural ebony fishbone

Because the Rickenbacker 4080 was too heavy, did not stay in tune and could not be played well, and also the Shergold Double Neck had clear weaknesses (very head-heavy and no stable tuning), this instrument was created, which was designed by Warwick Masterbuilder Steffen Manz at the time.

Most double neck instruments are one-offs that were built in very small numbers. Most of them have weaknesses, which disappear with time, because the instruments are developed further. The guitar offers a range of classic 12-string electric sounds with the fantastic Seymour Duncan SDBR-1 duckbucker pickups. It is very stable in tuning and easy to play.

The 5-string bass was designed in the direction of the Music Man Stingray. It features an MEC MM pickup and an active circuit with controls for treble and bass plus a switch to passive electronics.
