Here is a unique Vintage, Brass Bass Bridge. It is stamped Stars Guitars.
In the ’70s, Stars Guitars took over the old Alembic Shop in San Francisco, when they moved to a different location. They continued to sell many of the same parts and equipment that had previously been sold through Alembic.
This bridge and tailpiece would be ideal for a Rickenbacker or Guild Starfire, as the string spacing from the center of the E saddle groove to center of G is 2 1/16".
I checked against multiple P basses and Jazz basses and it would be possible to use the saddle in that type of resto-mod application, but you would need to make new grooves to accommodate the wider string spacing.
This would be an awesome part for a unique Mod to an existing instrument. Or, it could be the starting point for a ground-up build.
Whichever you decide, this piece of Bay Area music history will be an inspiration to your vision.
This one is Chrome-plated.
These parts are all Solid Brass, not pot metal like many high mass bridges/tailpieces.
