The only issue is purely cosmetic. No missing wood or structural damage.
I wacked the heel of the peghead against a door frame not too long after I got it (I am the original owner). I took it to a luthier to check it out right after. He confirned that everything was and is fine in structural integrity and the like.
The high gloss is a little pricey to repair. Since it is hidden behind the peghead and it wasn't a needed repair beyond looks, I decided to pass on fixing.
It has been a great workhorse (loud as heck, wonderful tone). But it is a heavy rig. I prefer to play standing up at gigs. Once I picked up a vintage Gibson ESS a while back (heavy but lighter than the Deering), I stopped giving the Deering the attention it deserves.
It needs to be played loud and proud! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!
