I am selling my 2016 Nelson Provocateur which I bought new and received in February 2016 The best thing about this guitar is how it sounds: it is acoustically very resonant, -- you can feel it vibrating as you play, and the (single coil) pickups do a beautiful job of transmitting this sound (the pickups are pretty unique. They sound like goldfoils, but clearer).
Everything aside from the tuners and the bridge is made by Bobby Nelson. Here are the details about this specific instrument:
- The guitar is made of maple and is semi-hollow. It is similar in size to a Rickenbacker 620 but with a thicker body. It weighs 6.2 lbs.
- Neck profile is between a 50's and 60's Gibson. Nice and chunky but not overly so. 1 11/16" nut, 9.5" radius, and medium-tall frets. I asked Bobby to shade the back of the neck as you can see in the photo. It's a cool look.
- The guitar has a satin finish (as does every guitar I have owned or currently own).
- The tuners are Hipshots and the electronics are CTS, and the pickguard is made of anodized aluminum.
- Guitar had just had a full pro setup and is in fantastic playing condition
I attached a (pretty bad) video of me playing the guitar out of the box a few minutes after I received it last year.
Comes with Levy's gig bag. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, and thanks for looking!
