The golden-voiced offspring of a mandola (the mandolin-family equivalent of the viola) and a five-string banjo, The Gold Tone Banjola+ is yet another of our banjo variants that are meant to expand the player's tonal vocabulary. Light in weight and easy to finger, the Banjola+ is wonderful for fills and solos in all kinds of music. The super-comfortable curly maple neck has a bound rosewood fretboard and the curly maple mandola body is bound top and back as well. It comes with a passive bridge-mounted pickup for easy amplification and the natural-finish solid spruce top picks up the energy from the moveable ebony bridge and multiplies it into a lovely, expressive sound that will enhance ballads and instrumental music equally nicely. The planetary-gear tuning machines and the mandolin-style tailpiece are chrome-plated and the nut and bridge saddle are made of real bone for the best tone possible. Available with or without scoop.
