Amazing and extremely rare. Wow, first of all, it is left handed, second, it has a graphite neck. We just might have unicorn here.
1982 Series II 4 string bass - left handed with graphite neck. Gorgeous birdseye maple top and back. Body is a 5 piece sandwich of Birdseye maple, purple heart, Mahogany core, purple heart, birdseye maple.
34” scale
10.5 lbs
Comes with DS-5R, 5-pin cable and non-original case.
There is some finish checking along the seam of the headstock where two layers of graphite meet. There is a little chip at the very tip as well. The bass was bumped at tip of headstock and that impact caused enough force to cause a slight disturbance between the laminates and thus some finish checking along the seam. Visible in photos. It is completely stable. Priced accordingly.
The bass has had the electronics upgrade and new pickups (courtesy of Alembic). While at Alembic, it was also spruced up and got a spa treatment. It is in very good condition overall and plays very well. Sounds amazing and you can get any tone out of it that you could possibly desire. It is a truly wonderful, unique and rare bass.
