About This Listing

I vastly underrated how popular the original pickups were for this guitar.  The guitar is now 100% back to stock, and these are the pickups that were originally in the guitar.

Up for your consideration is an all original, G&L ASAT Blues Boy.  The guitar was not gigged very much.  I left the older picture up, as the guitar has lived in its case until I could get the original pickups it came with back in it.   The outdoor pics with the Phat Cat and SD pup in the bridge are the older though, as those pickups have been removed and the originals reinstalled.

The spec sheet says it had the G&L Alnico 2 in it, but when I changed the originals out a few months back, I discovered it had a Seth Lover in the Bridge despite the spec sheet listing it as a G&L A2S4248N Alnico 2.  This guitar was produced after 2016 when G&L resumed using the Seth Lover in the Blues Boy Classics, which this is.  You can see the serial matches the listing on the spec sheet, as well as the model delete also showing up on the spec sheet.  I'm not sure if it was a typo on the spec sheet or if they just put the wrong pickup in at the factory.  The original owner was an older gentleman who played the guitar in a worship band on Sundays, so I'm guessing he never checked or that it was indeed a typo on the spec sheet.

I believe the Seth Lover is an upgrade option from G&L, so I don't feel this is a huge loss.  However, I did want to make sure that I was clear about this discrepancy.  For more about this (and to verify that I'm not just making all of this up), see the G&L site link below.

Yes, it is empress wood, and yes, it is light.  However, you can see from the lack of dings that if one doesn't handle their guitar like a complete beast, you can keep it ding free even whilst gigging.
