Full Description

Tube-like dynamics and feel

So, what exactly makes TransTube® circuitry so great? Well, Peavey were the early ambassadors of transistor technology in amps. With the development of TransTube®, Peavy tried to solve the sterile nature of solid-state amps and now they really champion that old issue. Things like the sound of the transformer, and asymmetrical clipping amongst a myriad of other factors that made modelling tube saturation so difficult. Peavey have worker tirelessly on this since its first incarnation in the ‘90s.

To push the point home, Peavey held an experiment and successfully fooled a group of professional musicians in a double-blind test. The experiment used the Peavey transistor amp which had to be identified, of which nobody got correct. This was amongst famous and boutique amp makers – an absolute victory for Peavey and solid-state tech technology.

Built in amp insurance

Have you ever had your amp blow on stage? Peavey address this with its DDT™ tech. This prevents the amp from clipping by engaging a compressor and If the amp is being pushed hard than it should be, it will power down. This is a great feature that gives you peace of mind when you are playing a show to know that the amp can and will survive a long stretch of gigs.

Peavey have included a simple but comprehensive EQ section. You get a standard array of controls (bass, middle, and treble) which both have a variable operation of +/-15dB. Punch, mid-shift and bright buttons engage different voicing options. The punch switch throws an extra 6dB at 100hz emphasising bass presence and weight. The mid shift changes the frequency of which the ‘middle’ knob controls. Engaged, you alter 250hz, left out you alter 600hz. The bright switch adds a 10dB high shelf at 1KHz which will add a lot of attack and definition to your sound – this is a useful set of features if you find yourself a little lost in the mix.

Psycho-acoustic low-end enhancement. Sure, it’s a mouthful, but it generates phat resonance to the really low notes and blends them with your clean signal without putting extra strain on your guitar speaker. So while it may be tough to say, it’ll make sure your speaker has no difficulty communicating your sound. Yet another great innovative feature – a testament to Peavey’s decades of research.

All these amazing features mean nothing if you are not In-tune…and you will be. Featuring a built-in chromatic tuner that does what it says, it’s a chromatic tuner and it's built-in – so staying pitch perfect is easy.

A handy 1/8” jack out allows you to put some headphones on and play at whatever ungodly hour you would like to. There is also an Auxiliary in so you can play along to your favourite songs when you are, in your bedroom, on the road, or when you just need it to be quiet.
