Korg X2 with Floppy Emulator and extras

Korg X2 with Floppy drive Emulator and soft case, both basic and reference reprinted manuals.

The Korg X2 76 key synth is amazing but it has one Achilles heel...............that stupid 720K rubber band powered floppy drive with a 24 pin flat ribbon cable connector.   

Many people give up on a replacement, and that is why you will see these for very low prices, but you won't have to worry about it with this unit.

Restoration/upgrades include.

In general cosmetics are very good, just a few marks.

Comes with a custom built interface board  to connect both the included floppy emultor and a matched SONY floppy drive.  (let me know which one you want installed before shipment, both come with it.)

This matches to the correct  Gotek floppy drive emulator (720K compatabitlity is required) and a USB stick (photo showing the "Tim_file" is off the USB stick).

Also includes a fully functional high quality SONY floppy drive ( no rubber bands ) currently set to match the X2 (jumpers  set to 720K)

Also a new bettery with installed battery holder and a few cracked case pin slots were stablized with marine epoxy.

*** If you choose to have this with the emulator installed and are not familiar with floppy emulators, do some research and make sure you are interested in learning a bit.  You will need a PC and software to copy and save patch files, but there are great youtube video's and the software can be downloaded for free.

The X2 was considered a further expansion started by the T and O series of synths.

The X2 is 76 key AI2 Synthesis workstation instrument with 8 MB rom samples with room for expansion via rom and ram cards. It features 200 programs, 200 combinations, and, a 10-song, 16-track multitrack MIDI sequencer. 2 multi-effects processors are also provided for adding effects. It also has the X/Y joystick
