"One thing that sets the Jackal S apart from the rest of the pack is the use of a long tenon set neck. This kind of neck joint makes a very noticeable increase in sustain and warmth over the usual Bolt-On design – your notes sound fuller and last longer. One more thing that the set-neck joint allowed us to do is to design the body with extra deep cutaways – offering excellent access to the entire neck!

The result of this design is a comfortable and versatile instrument that is resonant and delivers more sustain than the classic design. Sound wise the Jackal S has the sweet 60’s bell – like tone with a big rich bass, rounded highs and focused mid-range throughout all 5 positions."

 

This guitar is a beautiful example of the Jackal S model, with a chunky yet extremely comfortable C neck profile with graceful shoulders and finely rounded edges. It reads .86" to .98" from the first to 12th frets almost reaching an inch thick in the upper registers. The shape and matte finish still make for a fast feeling neck without any of that stickiness you can get from a gloss nitro neck. The Bosnian Maple used shows a beautiful flame figure as well. The Slab Rosewood board allows there to be no "Skunk Stripe" to get in the way of the gorgeous flame figure and adds warmth and sustain to this Jackal. This guitar also sports Bunting's new logo that's heat pressed into the headstock. We really like the single volume single tone layout as well, allowing for easy volume and tone finger/pinky swells. The guitar sports a great feeling 2-Pin Vibrato system. You can pull up a minor 3rd with this unit and it is precisely dialed in. Fat HSS Strat style tones with more mids, bass and presence as well as incredible access across the entire length of the fingerboard, really make the guitar a joy to play.
