About This Listing

Digidesign Command/8 is a great integrated control surface for protools, and it does that one job very well.  It is also a midi interface, monitor controlling cable and has a stand alone mode where you can set up all the controls with their own midi #, then use that to program control over anything that can be controlled my midi cc messages.  The scribble strip is easy to read and does a better job at abbreviating track/parameter names compared to other control surfaces that I have tried.

The faders work perfectly and are very smooth, responsive, and of solid quality.
Since command 8 is designed to integrate with PT, I don't think it is technically using the HUI protocol, since it has its own distinctive option to choose, when setting up a control surface in Protools.

I love controlling an eq with this, being able to adjust multiple parameters quickly and simultaneously while being able to  close my eyes and listen to what is happening.
