This unit has had the following upgrades/repairs: - Floppy drive replaced with Gotek floppy emulator drive running HxC software. - Both Emax itself and the Gotek has been given a white-on-black LED-display. - New Volume and Data sliders. - Power supply has been recapped with new heavy-duty aluminium caps. - Emax has been given the SE software upgrade.
I'm including two extra SSM2047 VCF/VCA "Voice System" chips, as I have some stocked, and these are hard to come by should one of the installed ones break.
The Emax diagnostics tests has been run successfully on the unit, stereo outs and all individual outs tested and working, analog prosessing, sample in, read/write to disk tested and working.
Comes with approx. 800 disk images (which are freely available on the net) on USB-stick.
UPDATE! Not to get to technical here, but it's worth mentioning: After some consideration, I decided to replace the dbx 2155 VCA and a LF398N sample-and-hold opamp in the sample input circuitry of the Emax with identical NOS and new parts, respectively. The result was profound; sample input is now crystal clear and ready for the 21st century. (I did the same upgrade on my own Emax, and the result was exactly the same.)
