Huss & Dalton CM Custom 1997 Natural
Huss & Dalton CM CUSTOM exc. condition 1997
Huss and Dalton opened up shop in 1995. This beauty was built in 1997, making it a collector's item. Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton imagined a guitar that paid homage to tradition and also incorporated improvements to the structure and cosmetics of the distinctly American steel string guitar.
CM is the Concert Series, a small body guitar -- like an OM style but with deep sides. Radiused soundboards design is a boost in the mid-range, giving a more perceptibly balanced tone than a strictly traditional design with plenty of sustain.
Customs Upgrades on this guitar, that add about $1000 to the CM base price, include: Honduran rosewood back and sides; slotted peghead with nickel Waverly tuners; and factory-installed under saddle pickup.
Adjustable truss rod, steel-reinforced
Clear pickguard
Radiused ebony fingerboard
Soft Venetian cutaway
Body and fretboard bindings of figured maple
Abalone rosette, and 12th fret scroll abalone inlay
Engelmann spruce top
Braced with hand-split Appalachian red spruce, which has a greater strength-to-weight ratio than other woods more commonly used for braces
Bridge plate is made from Honduran rosewood, selected for its superior tonal properties, durability, and resistance to string-ball wear.
Bone nut, 1/8" bone saddle
Nut width 1-3/4 inches
Body depth 4-5/8 inches
Scale 25.4 inches
Soundhole 4-3/16 inches
