RARE! RARE! RARE! This is the Gibson Gothic Flying V toured around the world with Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society during their early years when they were playing the largest rock/metal stages in the world! You can see this guitar on stage next to Zakk in plenty of the early years videos of the band. Many signs of touring on the hard case. The guitar was auctioned off by the famous Boogie Street Guitars on behalf of Black Label Society years ago after the band moved from Gibson and has video confirmation provenance from Eric McKenna of Boogie Street Guitars confirming they auctioned it off on eBay.
Black Label Society are also known for their band members that starred in the Hollywood mega film "Rock Star" starring Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Anniston and Timothy Olyphant! The Band has topped #1 on the Billboard Rock Charts and has had members from Metallica, Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Danzig, Type O Negative, Evanescence and Breaking Benjamin! Zakk Wylde needs no introduction in the guitar world, so a Gibson that toured with his band at its famous inception is a golden opportunity for any fan and collector.
The Gibson Gothic series came out in 1999 when Zakk Wylde launched Black Label Society. This series was well ahead of its time featuring a satin matte black finish, blacked out hardware & plastics, no inlays except for a moon & star at the 12th fret, and a gothic portrait of Orville Gibson on the back of the headstock. It was a limited edition guitar meant to appeal to the heaviest rockers...it is no surprise that this one landed in the hands of Black Label Society.
