It all starts with the AE body. Its narrow waist, larger depth, and round lower bout strike a perfect balance between tonal projection and playing comfort. Traditional scalloped X-bracing allows the top to vibrate freely, imparting your tone with added harmonic content. Ibanez even went so far as to carefully design the bridge pins to ensure fast and accurate string changes.
Unique tonewood construction
The warm and focused sound of mahogany injects your tone with a mellow voice that many feel is the perfect accompaniment to a vocal. Ibanez wanted to ensure they were able to translate the exquisite acoustic voice of the AE245 into a live performance environment. They achieved this with a custom-designed Ibanez pickup and preamp system. The T-bar under-saddle pickup captures the movement from your guitar's strings and sends it to the precisely voiced preamp located on the inside of the AE245's end pin.
