This one-owner EVH Music Man was made early in the production run, with a build date of July 31, 1991 - just a month after the release of Van Halen's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge".
The finish is cherry red, with a beautiful irregular flame top underneath that pops differently from every angle.
I would describe the condition of the body (per Reverb) as Very Good - the guitar has a few dings here and there, and some very light swirling on the top, but this instrument has clearly been taken good care of over the past 29 years.
As you'd expect from this guitar, the birdseye maple neck is nothing short of spectacular. These are the smoothest, fastest playing necks out there and this one is no exception. The oil finish is absolutely to die for. Though there are some dings on the body, the neck nearly immaculate - I could only find one scratch, up near the nut on the treble side.
The original frets are in fantastic shape, with only very light wear. The action is low, with no buzzing and no notes fretting out that I could detect.
The simple electronics work perfectly on this guitar, and the proprietary DiMarzio pickups deliver massive cleans and harmonic-rich distortion sounds.
The original hard shell case is in excellent condition, with only some residue from a sticker remaining on the side (see photos). An EVH d-tuner is included in the case, along with an allen wrench and a set of D'Addario strings.
I believe I've covered everything here, but please feel free to ask if you have any questions or would like additional photos.
