Sundown Artist

This is an original Sundown Artist Amp made by legendary amp guru, Dennis Krager, from Ampeg fame.  Dennis originally did amp repairs and more for Ampeg and a who's who of artists in the late 70's into the early 80's before launching his own amp company.  Dennis Krager and Ken Fischer actually studied electronics together and were friends.  This is the Sundown amp that helped define the John Scofield sound.  He used two Sundowns in stereo for many years as his main rig. This is a 100 Watt Amp but can be varied using "The Governor" knob as well as the variable RMS knob on the amp.  This allows you to go from bedroom to stage volumes.  It has four 6L6 Power Tubes and five 12-AX7 Preamp Tubes.  This amp was serviced by Dennis Krager himself last just to tune it up given it's age.  He also made me a footswitch for it that I will include in the sale.  I believe the amp was originally manufactured in the mid- eighties.  These amps were ahead of their time in many areas.  They are also built like tanks!  Just fired her up and she still sounds really great.
