1953 Kay C-1 Upright Bass, serial# 31458, classic!
with Realist pickup, German style bow, new strings and new soft bag
(plus an additional set of gut strings)

Recent total overhaul included new adjustable bridge, new finger board, new D'Addario strings, seams inspected&re-glued and sound post adjustment.

The bass is very playable and set up for low action. No cracks anywhere, just lots of scuffs which is typical for these basses. Original, smooth maple neck has no cracks. The tail piece (without insignia) looks original and is in good shape. The new finger board is straight and even. Original Tuners are working perfectly.

Decent German bow, Realist Bass pickup, and a nearly new padded soft bag is included.

History: I am the third owner and only recently purchased it from a friend who was offered it by widow of original owner (a professional bassist). The bass has been sitting since 1st owner passed away a few years ago. I'm selling because of arthritis in left hand. As described, the bass plays very well, sounds great and is in great shape. Don't be deceived by the scuffed look.
