This has got to be one of the most desirable of Alembic Basses ever produced, the Short Scale Bass made famous by none other than my mentor, Stanley Clark, whom I personally learned every lick from Clarke’s “School Days” album back in 1976, this is an early production bass, its made with a wonderful combo starting w/front & back laminations of the most desirable choice of woods, striped Zebrawood w/a 5 piece body & center core, its neck-thru body is constructed from 7 pieces of maple & purple heart, its front & back laminations of its headstock are a matched set of Zebrawood, its got stock Series II electronics w/its dummy-hum center pickup that go thru its DS-5 power supply making what most people say is the ultimate bass tone on Earth, I can agree, its got its share of play time & patina having a few chips & weatherchecking all over, new list base price is in excess of $26,500. today, Even in the UK discounted in pounds its still $22,909. this is 1/2 price, otherwise she’s rather excellent overall & 100% original, its power supply & its power cord are all in its pocket in its original blue tolex hard case.
