1965 Harmony H420 Vintage Valco Made Tube Amp Supro Thunderbolt Variant

Up for sale, a 1965 Harmony H420; a rare Valco made alternative to the famed Supro Thunderbolt!  Produced in the same Valco factory as the Thunderbolt and marketed by Harmony to pair with their guitar line, the H420 is extremely similar in terms of circuit and layout to its more famous Supro cousin. Lightly compressed, focused and balanced, the H420 pushes about 35 watts through a pair of 6L6 power tubes and a vintage Jensen C15N speaker. For everything from clean, wooly rhythm tones to saturated tube overdrive further up on the volume dial, this Harmony delivers a pure sound with a simple yet ingenious circuit and only three knobs for Volume, Bass and Treble. 

The circuit is completely stock, save for a necessary professional recap of the power section to keep the amp operating within original factory spec.  The original CTS pots date to 1965 and the original knobs are intact as well. The faceplate shows rust and wear, but has been polished up to the best of our ability, and much of the original black text is still legible. The original dark blueish gray tolex is in good overall condition, with some moderate wear around the corners of the enclosure. 

The H420 is a great workingman's amp for a fraction of the price of a Supro Thunderbolt!
