Magnatone Varsity Lap Steel and M-197-3-V Amplifier matched pair that were made in the USA about 1950. They have a grey pearloid finish, and some cool red lucite accents on the lap steel. They play and sounds great and the lap steel comes with a case that is probably an original case. This is a one owner set that came from an older lady who played them as a child in the time frame of 1950.
The amp is a model M-197-3-V with “3” meaning the three tubes (6SJ7,6V6,5Y3) and the “V” for Varsity Model with an 8” speaker. Dimensions: 11.5 in. high, 12.5 in. wide, 6.75 in. deep. Amp Schematic very similar to a Gibson Les Paul Jr. amp and to a Fender Champ 5C1.
