Sold at the Christies 2004 Crossroads Auction.
Fabulous two piece Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, with Cedar top, with abalone pearl inlays, mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard.
Original hardshell case with adhesive tape inscribed 7070 by Lee Dickson.
This guitar was given to Eric as a gift by Paul Brady and was used at the 39th Grammy Awards in Madison Square Gardens. It featured extensively on his album Reptile and on Change the World.
Guitar has been used extremely sparingly, and was recently checked and setup by George Lowden. Still has the under saddle pickup installed by Clapton's tech. Provenance can be checked via Christie's or George Lowden.
Will include copy of original Christie's catalogue, and extensive paperwork proving provenance.
Stunning, but sadly must sell. Provenance documentation available.
