Through 1915-1940, Kumalae was the award winning GOLD STANDARD for ukuleles. Their founder, Jonah Kumalae, is famous for making the ukulele popular in mainland USA. The Kumalae brand was relaunched in 2011 and is sadly now retired. These ukes represent the last of the Kumalae heritage - a beautiful sounding instrument and a piece of history.
Like the traditional Hawaiian ukuleles of old, Kumalaes are minimalist in visual aesthetic, but loud on sound. Handcrafted with exotic Indonesian Mahogany (also known as Iron Redwood), these ukuleles resonate with an evenly balanced tone that emphasizes low to midranges and provides a traditional "Hawaiian punch" to the treble.
These are the last of an out of production, very limited 2013 inventory. Open box, never played, in mint condition with original tags and packaging...rare and collectible!
