Here is an excellent condition, 1978 M.G. Contreras Classical Guitar.
This is a high level concert classical guitar. It was made in the Contreras workshop in Madrid, Spain.
This hand crafted guitar was built using solid CSA rosewood for the back and sides, a Cedar neck and a Red Cedar top. The head stock cap is also rosewood. The guitar has a beautiful Contreras signature rosette with matching bridge reinforcement.
This guitar had a hairline and small chip in the same area of top, which were professionally repaired. There was some scratching at the upper bout of the back with a little discoloration. The finish has been touched up using lacquers to remove scratches and small blemishes.
Scale length on this guitar is 658 millimeters. This scale length gives the guitar great projection and clarity without making chord reach difficult. Nut width is 51 millimeters.
The guitar has just been refretted with very smooth fret ends for easy playing. The ebony fretboard is in excellent condition. Action on the 12th fret low E string is 4.0 millimeters and the 12th fret high E string measures 2.5 millimeters.
This guitar comes equipped with high ratio Gold Gotoh tuning keys. They are smooth, with good precision and they hold tune well. The original label is in very good condition.
The guitar will be carefully packed and shipped in a good condition hard shell case inside a sturdy box.
