Vintage legendary LOTUS brand bass guitar! Made in INDIA!
Vintage legendary brand Lotus P-Bass style 4 string bass guitar, manufactured in
1980s? Unusual metallic black and blue burst finish, with original white pickup covers (99% of P-Bass pickup covers you see are Black). This was a performance instrument and as such has
some use related scars: chips (repaired, drop-filled, sealed) and indentations,
scraps, scratches, scuffs, and belt buckle rash, mostly on the back of the
body (please see final photos in the listing for condition of back of body).
String heights: 1/16th inch at 1st fret. 3/32nds inch at 12th fret. Measurements APPROXIMATE (I used a ruler not a luthier gauge).
Lotus was a “house brand” name put on the headstocks of a line of
good-quality electric guitars made in various Asian factories from the late
1970s until the late 1990s.
Lotus- branded guitars
started with the elite league of Japanese craftsmen who initially made
excellent Morris-branded guitars, Yamaha, and . Lotus' guitar company owners, scrambling for cheaper labor, began
manufacturing their guitars in India, but could not compete with Chinese and
Indonesian guitar producers, so the company ended production before the end of
the 1990s
