About This Listing

Here is a great set up of some vintage Kenwood audio gear. This lot of gear includes the classic BASIC C1 preamplifier, the KT-57 AM FM tuner, and the KM-105 stereo power amplifier.  These all are from the mid to late 80s, and each unit works great. The C1 is a legendary control unit preamp, and this one is in like new condition. This preamp features a great phono section and has MM and MC cart capability. This unit is very popular, and is a sought after mod platform and also is popular for a modern front end when hooked up to tube power amps. It is in great shape and works fine.  The KT-57 was a fine digital display AM and FM tuner that was sold in this period and matches up well.  It of course works fine and is in great shape, and includes the original owners manual. The KM-105 stereo power amp is a very nice basic power amp that puts out a strong 125wpc RMS at 8 ohms.  The Basic C1 typically was paired with the M1 power amp, but the owner of this one chose the KM-105 and it works well, plus it has the nice red power meter lighting.  It also was a tad more powerful.  The previous owner chose to add venting holes on the right side of the case where the heat sink is located. It is not ideal for some but in a rack this makes complete sense, and it is unseen from that perspective.  This lot of gear is a great way to get a tremendous flexible and powerful stereo set up in one shot.  All were made in the late 80s when the black cosmetic design was popular, but these are not inferior pieces at all.  They were the leading edge of stereo gear at the time.  The C1 is a timeless classic that gives you a platform to work with a number of power amplifiers in itself, and it works great with the KM-105. This lot will ship with owners manuals for the C1 and KT57, and I will provide RCA cables to get you running.  Ready to hook up to your speakers.  Asking $300 or best offer. I prefer to sell as the set as that is how I got them.  Due to the nature of voltages and currents with vintage electronics US and Canada only. Decent separate components have been evaporating over the last couple of years, so I believe my asking price is fair. But I am always open to offers, so if you are interested and don't mind someone snapping it up, give it a shot. Others have. Please check my feedback. Thanks for looking! Specifications KT-57
