The Fender Contemporary Strat was engineered by Fender Luthiers when CBS was selling out or going out chapter 13 until Bill Shultz was made CEO and out sourced to Japan.. The Fender ware house was full as the recession of the 1980's took a toll on businesses that hired live bands and bands that were eating lean.. I remember the days. The upshot is the engineering between Schaller Germany manufacturing the Fender System One Floating bridge for long sustain and deep dive bombing.. After 30 something years the FS1 bridge still remains number one in it's class. I am the only seller on the Net that sells all the original authentic parts. I have 40 refurbished bridges and 40 refurbised Fender Contemporary mid 1980 Strats and Teles.. SSS and HSS as well as HH all mid 80's// As I always say if you don't see what you want feel free to ask I probably have it. After refurbishing so many Fender Contemporary Guitars. Your going to have left over parts.. Especially when the finest and the best were used to refurbish. Which leads me to the sale of this mid 80's Strat/ left over with bridge and snap in bar all original even the screws except the bar is aftermarket steel made on a lathe to my specifications. I do have the original bars are made with Chrome. rare, vintage and pricy. The body has multiple scratches and a few dents and scrapes as pictured the best I can on black.. The Fender System One black bridge has been refurbished and the G string fine tuner has been changed as shown.. THE wood is light Bass wood for lead playing were as the yellowed Bass wood is better for rythem. Not for the cheaper alternative but because he always asked famous guitarists, from Page to Clapton and so on.. How could he make his Strat better. The Fender Strat body went through 3 changes and got thinner at the top curve and lighter when Bass wood was introduced in the 70's. Finally older musicians where happy with the sound quality and the lighter guitar. Bass wood has almost the same sound quality as Alder and Ash. All the screws and hard ware are original. except the squier back plate and screws and the Les Paul type strap button on the top horn.
