Here is a glorious gem of an amp. The fabled “blackline” Bassman. The short story is these are the very first versions of the Silverface drip-edge amps made in the end of 1967 and is basically a Blackface Bassman in Silverface clothes. It’s definitely an extremely early version as it is housed in the slightly smaller headbox that has the brackets that used to mount it to the cab like the earlier Blackfaces. It’s in ok cosmetic condition with its fair share of scuffs and dings. It’s missing one of the long screws that mounts the chassis inside the box but that doesn’t affect function whatsoever. This particular one sounds absolutely incredible. It’s just been fully serviced and retubed. Basically a full recap and made sure every component was working correctly. A master volume was added at some point but was completely removed from the circuit. The knob is still there but it no longer functions or affects the amp. It’s 100% ready to go for another 50 years.
