In 1984 Rivera set out to design Fenders Sidekick series and other Fender Japan amps, as shown in the video link attached.
This very rare black face Fender Sidekick Reverb 65 electric guitar amp has the original foot-switch and 12” Celestion 8 ohm speaker, dual inputs, with switchable lush spring reverb and channel switching. The metal parts show oxidation and the handle is intact. This example is from 1985 and features state of the art solid state technology of its time, with dual inputs, full range spring reverb, presence control, volume, gain, and master, allowing you to get both great distortion and traditional Fender cleans.
Measures 18 3/4” wide x 16 3/4” high x 10 1/2” depth and weighs about 42 lb. It certainly gets very loud for small and medium sized gigs.
A new power plug with ground is installed. Please see photos for condition. These Paul Rivera designed solid state amps are getting rare and they don't come up often with functional reverb. It sold for about $900 new back in 1985 and is in full working condition. It has various scratches and light wear at the tolex. The entire amp has been cleaned and serviced, and is ready to play. The back panel screws have been replaced, the first input jack has some wear (shown) as well as indentations on the black face plate (shown). The fabric grill has some road wear, and retains the original amp logo that reads “made in USA”.
