Vintage Leedy Marimba, 3 1/2 octave, made in the 1920s by Leedy, Indianapolis Indiana. Check photos for original factory badge.
This is very old, and I'd consider it a "player" not a "collector" - though it's fully functional, in tune, sounds fabulous and plays well. This is the kind of instrument you leave set-up in your home or practice studio. It is not the type of instrument you constantly pack up and transport for gigs - the frame is too old for that kind of thing. It holds everything up just fine, but it's around 100 years old... best to leave it set-up.
I'm sure someone who is handy could clean up the nickel resonators & frame, and make this thing sparkle.
