Splawn Nitro - Fully Loaded - 50 Watt

Fully Loaded Splawn Nitro.  50 watt.  Full-Size Plexi Headshell.  

I purchased this amp brand new directly from Scott Splawn in April of 2018 and it has lived in my climate controlled smoke-free studio ever since.  No rehearsals and no gigs.

More gain and low end thump than you could ever need. But with the Mid Cut/Boost and Old/New Voicing switches you have a myriad of tonal options at your fingertips that are simply unavailable with previous generation Nitros.  Scoop the mids, select the ‘New’ voicing and roll up the resonance and gain and the sound is tailor made for modern metal and drop tunings.  Roll back the resonance and gain and boost the mids in the ‘Old’ voicing and you have anything from JCM800 on Steroids to convincing ‘Brown Sounds’.   This was probably my favorite setting and with the gain around noon, the amp takes front-end boost pedals extremely well. 

Of note, all Scott Splawn’s 50 watt offerings utilize a lowered plate voltage power section, so the amp is basically ‘Drop B+’ by default.  Adds nice organic ‘feel’ while retaining excellent string separation and articulation.  

Don't be fooled by the 50 watt rating: this amp is LOUD.  But with the Loop Level, you can really push the power stage and control output with the loop for huge drive at whisper-quiet bedroom levels.

This is my 4th Splawn and the only reason I am selling is that I currently have a fully loaded 50 watt QR and find that as the years go by, I have become much more of a '1st Gear' player.

New price was right at $2,200.00 with about a 6-week wait.  Save time and money and snag one of the best high gain beasts available.

NOTE: I got a question about the face of the ‘Volume’ knob in the 3rd pic. It looks silver, but that is just glare - it is definitely gold faced like the rest.
