This zebrawood
top T-type guitar was completed on July 16, 2020, in the VZ Custom Guitars shop in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The top is
finished with transparent red nitrocellulose lacquer. The chambered mahogany
body is finished with clear nitrocellulose lacquer. The chambered body results
in a lightweight, but resonant guitar. Total weight is a little over 7 pounds.
The 21-fret maple neck has a rosewood fretboard. It is finished with clear nitrocellulose lacquer. The width at the nut is 1-11/16” inches. The radius is 9.5 inches. Fret size is medium 6105. Neck thickness measures .83” at the 1st fret and .92” at the 12th fret. The truss rod is dual-acting with adjustment at the headstock. The tuning machines are Kluson vintage-style with white buttons.
This guitar is equipped with Fender Yosemite pickups. Fender uses the Yosemite set in their American Performer Telecaster. You can find some video demos on YouTube if you search “Yosemite pickups.” This guitar features a 4-way switch mod. The first three positions are the standard Tele selections: 1. Bridge; 2. Bridge+Neck connected in parallel; 3. Bridge+Neck connected in series; 4.Neck. The 3rd position adds a big, bold humbucker-like tone to the normal Tele repertoire.
This guitar has been set up with D’Addario EXL-110 strings (.010-.046).
A Fender Deluxe gig bag is included.
