A fantastic “Golden Era” Japanese turntable.
Released in Japan in 1977 during Japan's "Golden Era" of high-fidelity audiophile equipment, the Sony PS-X9 is, simply put, a masterpiece of a turntable.The PS-X9 was originally designed for professional broadcasting, with a focus on the highest such quality of playback.As such, it is a very rare piece of equipment, with perhaps only 2000 produced (this number is speculation). Those in exceptional condition are rarer still.The PS-X9 features a captivating utilitarian aesthetic that harks to the intention that it be used in studios and broadcasting rooms, with an oversized platter, a tactile control interface, and a body that seems suited to mounting in a professional console.The sound of the PS-X9 is regarded by listeners as being in a class of its own. This turntable is in excellent condition, with very little sign of wear (please see photos).It has some minor and not noticeable scratches.The dust cover has little broken fixed by glue (please see photos) This turntable has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation.Both 33 and 45 settings work perfectly, and the platter rotation is like clockwork.Don't miss such a great unit in such beautiful condition!
