About This Listing
For your consideration is a spectacular mini Banjo designed and made by the late Banjo Hall of Fame legend, Dale Small. Spend some time reading about him on the web. He was a world renowned Banjo Luthier who’s unique creations were nothing short of legendary in the Banjo world. One of his pieces is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute. This piece largely conforms to the scale of a baritone banjo ukulele with a 19&1/8” scale, 1&3/16 nut width, 5/8” rim, 8”head. Walnut neck and burled Walnut resonator. As with all of Dale’s Banjos, the fit and finish is second to none andthe inlay work of mother of pearl and abalone is exquisite. Itis a great sounding banjo with a beautiful heavy Bacon and Day style gold plated cast tonering, Flange and arm rest and is currently strung with steel strings. It will sound great with nylon strings as well. It is in very good condition with no cracks or breaks or issues of any kind. Some very minor oxidation of the gold plating is apparent in a few areas. A slight chip appears on the top of the heel cap. The original owners Social Security number is etched in three different places on the Banjo and his name appears on the gold plated armrest. Serial number 260 It is a truly marvelous sounding instrument and like all of Dale’s creations is singularly unique. It comes in a mandolin hard shell case.
