Since I’ve posted this listing I’ve also spent over a G repairing it (see last few images of all the parts I had to replace). I replaced the screen and power regulator which fried out mid August 2021 for the tune of a small fortune. It was also serviced in 2017 with quite a few upgraded and modifications as well. Like most pieces of gear this age there has been a lot of work just to keep it going and relevant so while my price may be higher than some… we’ll, I don’t care. This is what it’s worth to me. Buy someone else’s beat up one instead be my guest.

This dsp4000 is essentially the same as the h3000 but features upgraded processing and is more customizable. Imho it is in many ways, better than an H3000. Let’s also set the record straight. The “warmth” and “grit” the h3000 had came from its inferior 16 bit converters and nothing more. There is no debate about that, it’s a matter of computer processing and electrical design. It’s an old ass computer folks.

This does everything the classic h3000 does but better. Same great algorithms, more control, better d/a conversion, faster processing and more parameter function. It also has user presets that every h3000 owner wishes they had. And it sounds better. Not less character or less vibe… BETTER.

Imho anyone who says h3000 is better is simply enjoying a dithered bit depth and doesn’t understand what they’re listening to. You can also “dither down” the dsp4000 with a dedicated “dither mode” which even gives you the exact same “warmth”  if you like lo-fi
(to use the GearSpace adjective). Even though "warmth" is a word for things like vacuum tubes, not old outdated converters. Gearspace users are usually not professional full time engineers or techs with an EE degree, they just follow trends, other GS posts and general reputations. For that reason and that reason alone, the H3000 went from $200 to $3000+ in the last decade but don’t believe the hype. If you do buy an Eventide Harmonizer box, do yourself a favor and get the newest one you can get and stay away from the H3000’s... get a DSP4000 or get the old original blackface models that had that magical transformer in them that actually DID "warm" up the source signal in a very special way! Anyway, enough rant. here’s the official listing:

———————

This was considered the best of the H3000 ‘s algorithms but given more power, presets and punch with better converters. Still has the same algo's but features more function and customizable presets. 30 years old but in great working condition

All buttons work great now after the recent servicing. Has new screen and power section.

No returns, all sales final. Unit works, that’s what you’re buying and that’s what you’ll get. 100% functional. Rack ear mylar wear is
typical for the age of these models but mostly unnoticeable once racked up. See pics for details. The photos shown are of the exact unit that you will receive so please take a look as it is showing some signs of Normal wear as old outboard does over time. No bent rack ears or serious dents/scratches as you can see. No returns accepted unless received broken, which it won’t be. Please make sure this is what you are looking for before making the purchase. Not many of these around and with the H3000 jumping shark in trend.

Has been cleaned and gone through by a tech from front to back for this sale and had a few issues taken care of. New screen and power regulator. I/O cleaned and scrubbed with Deoxit D5 silicone cleaner. Unit is ready to be racked up and inspire new ideas for decades to come.

Any questions please ask. Open to trades
