For sale is a vintage, custom built, made to order 8-string Octave bass. These were first shown at the 78 NAMM show. They were built to order for a limited time, and not mass produced. I’ve only seen 4 all of my years as a collector, and all of them have been between 78-81.
The bass sports two preamps, for the dual DiMarzio P-bass pickups. With parallel/series and phase options. (See pic for control instructions). It also has a BadAss bridge which is modified by BC Rich. This is a USA made authentic Rico bass. If you have never held a cutom Rich instrunment, you will be amazed.
The bass is without flaws, and a great vintage investment. The dark “beauty mark” on the back is wood grain in the maple section. Comes in the original hard shell case.
The second set of strings and EADG but an octave higher. With a simple neck adjustment, you can remove the second set and play it as a 4-string. How cool will you look with this beauty?
