THESE ARE JUST LIKE THE BOSS ACA/ARION PEDALS - meaning that they operate best on 9v battery OR 12v adapter - a regular 9v adapter underpowers it. The LED will let you know by hardly illuminating on a regular 9v adapter but shines bright and sounds better with a battery.
